Part 1: Complete by October 17th

Bible (Tim)

  • Read chapter 5 of How to Read the Bible for All its Worth.
  • Read and study handout on "Covenants."


Theology (Josh)

  • Print out and complete the scripture worksheet: Creation. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwEsSC3oD-LUS1NDX0JfWEZTNm8
  • Read Evangelical Theology, 140-213.
  • Create a new post in the forum and answer two discussion questions. Clearly indicate which questions you are responding to in your post. Your response to each question should be between 150-250 words.
  • 1.Can someone be a sincere Christian and believe in evolution?
  • 2.Select question #4-8 from page 231 and write a response.


Leadership (Derek)

  • Read Building a Discipleship Culture, Part 2.


Part 2: Complete by November 7th

Bible (Tim)

  • Fill our the interpretation flow chart.
  • Read the following passages: Exodus 19-20, Deuteronomy 5, Hebrews 7-9.
  • For each passage, write down your observations on what can be learned about the following four areas:
    1. Attributes of God – what is God like?
    2. The Gospel of God – how does this connect to the story of the gospel?
    3. The Son of God – how is Jesus revealed? Evidence of foreshadowing or unveiling?
    4. The People of God – what does this speak to us?


Theology (Josh)

  • Read Turning Points chapter 4.
  • Fill out the History Journal for the chapters. Keep your completed journal in your theology folder. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwEsSC3oD-LUbFgyN2ctaVlJM28
  • Respond to at least one other person’s post in the forum. Your response should be between 100-150 words.
  • Think of one question you’d like to discuss at the learning party and post it on the question thread in the forum.
